I'm working on a few new posts to cover Sonder $SOND, SES AI $SES, and new "space" names. This is a market where most de-SPAC names plummet after redemptions but there have been a few standouts like Black Rifle Coffee $BRCC.
We're in a market where "no rush" applies to new ideas so it's a good time to dig in and find ideas that can work in an environment of slower growth, higher rates, and more variable prices and raw material costs.
Today we published a note on Red Nation Ideas that captures a little of the spirit in the SPAC market following the success (so far!) of $DWAC.
It was also an opportune time to make some changes in our SPACvest portfolio which is now also a "real money" portfolio since valuations are back in my wheelhouse. That will continue to be the case unless and until the market gets overly expensive again.
Quite a few promising de-SPAC names like $MAPS, $BFLY, $PL, $HIMS have failed miserably and are in the $4-5 range now. We've put the entire universe into a model where we can look at the underlying business performance relative to the stock declines and valuation. We may find a few good names in there when the market comes out the other side of this phase.
I realize that some of the navigation on the site is confusing but in order to change it, I'll need to get a little bit into the theme code but hope to get that done in the next week.
Whether you are looking for longs or shorts I expect 2022 will offer good opportunities off the beaten path of better-covered investment areas.
We are getting close to the membership limit on this site and may have to eliminate the free option this year. There there's nothing to worry about as the free content will still get out but just using different (less costly) channels.
